Terms of service
Version v6,
These terms are for the invite-only Kinet pilot. They are a draft. Where something still has to be decided, it is marked "to be confirmed".
About these terms and who we are
Kinet is operated by Peter Bi, an individual.
These terms apply to the invite-only pilot of Kinet, called "the pilot service" here. The invitation-only pilot is active; broader self-service registration is not open.
This website describes Kinet. The pilot service itself runs at ai.kinet.com.
Eligibility
The minimum age is 21.
The Kinet app does not check your age. The minimum age is a condition of these terms that you confirm by using the service, not something Kinet enforces.
The operating region label is South California; this label is not the hosting location.
The pilot service
The pilot is invite-only.
The pilot is a restricted hosted pilot. Chat, project proposals, manual project tasks and workflow authoring, approval and execution are supported. Automated hosted project goals and agent tasks, and hosted server web search, are unavailable.
In hosted mode, Kinet refuses browser capture, external browser authoring, and workflow requests to private networks, non-HTTPS addresses or destinations you did not approve.
A workflow can read from and write to the APIs you approve. A one-off approval authorizes one run of the exact reviewed package. A recurring schedule requires separate approval of its cadence, expiry and finite run, mail and model limits. Pause or revoke stops future permission but cannot recall an in-flight request. Missed slots do not catch up, consumed claims are not refunded, renewal requires fresh review, and Kinet never retries an uncertain write automatically.
Hosted workflow commands run in rootless containers that make no network calls themselves, with a read-only image root and no credentials. For a real run, Kinet's host-side broker sends the HTTPS requests you approved and holds your write-only API credentials.
Because this is a pilot, the service can change or pause at any time.
Audio, image and short-video input and analysis are available to invited pilot users. Audio transcription runs locally on the host. Image analysis sends a normalized image to DeepSeek; video analysis sends sampled frames and a local transcript. You choose processing separately from uploading. The Privacy notice explains retention, deletion and the data sent to the provider.
The browser app supports microphone recording on supported mobile and desktop browsers, and supported audio, image and video uploads. Recording needs a supported browser and microphone permission; supported file upload is the fallback. Live calls, live voice and spoken replies are not available. Replies stay text. Registration and account-recovery code are installed, but public registration remains closed. Email recovery requires an eligible verified address permitted by the operator.
The pilot host is with OVHcloud US in Oregon (US-WEST-OR), United States.
The pilot uses the shared development VPS in OpenStack region os-us-west-or-2, under a pilot-only exception. This is not dedicated per-user hosting.
Accounts and access
An admin issues your invite and you set your own password.
An invitation uses a one-time token that expires.
Invitation delivery is manual in this pilot. An admin gives you the app address and a token through a trusted channel; choose "Use an invitation token" on the sign-in screen.
Sessions use host-only cookies with CSRF protection.
Keep your password secret, and tell us at once if you think someone else can use your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Administrators and account recovery
An admin can issue a one-time password-reset link for manual delivery. Separately, self-service email recovery is available only when the account has an eligible verified address and current operator mail policy permits delivery. Email recovery keeps any enabled authenticator requirement and revokes existing sessions after a successful reset.
Trusted admins can take over an account through a one-time password reset. By using the service you accept this.
Admin screens cannot browse your content. They show account metadata and content-free security metadata.
The host operator can access the host. Kinet does not offer end-to-end or operator-proof privacy.
Your content and the model provider
You keep your rights in what you write. You allow us to process it to run the service for you.
Your chat messages and other content are sent to a model provider to produce replies.
The pilot's model provider is DeepSeek. Its own published terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, and its privacy policy says it stores data in the People's Republic of China. The retention and training terms that apply to forwarded content are not confirmed. The Privacy notice sets out what DeepSeek's pages say.
Do not put passwords, payment card numbers or other secrets into chat or into a project.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the pilot service to:
- break the law or help someone else do so;
- try to reach another person's account, data or the systems that run the service;
- send malicious code, or try to disrupt or overload the service;
- run automated scraping or bulk requests, or work around the usage caps;
- harass, threaten or deceive other people.
to be confirmed
Fees and limits
The pilot is free, with per-user caps and no billing.
Each user has monthly spend and storage caps, set by the operator.
The current pilot installation is configured with monthly model-spend limits of USD 10 per pilot user and USD 100 per installation, and storage limits of 2 GiB per pilot user and 8 GiB per installation. These are configured limits, not charges or promises about future public accounts, capacity or availability.
The pilot and its caps can change.
Deletion and backups
You can delete your account in the browser app.
Deleting an account revokes access immediately, then purges your live data, including archived agents and private state.
Backups are encrypted.
The configured backup policy uses a fixed window of 30 days when backup and pruning run successfully. Future backup coverage and expiry are not guaranteed.
Google Drive is the encrypted Restic backup backend. A Production-authorized backup, 30-day pruning and repository check succeeded, and the daily backup timer is enabled and active. Future coverage and expiry depend on successful runs, authorization, pruning and provider availability.
Restoring a backup first replays a deletion registry, so a deleted account cannot return.
Minimal deletion evidence, a tombstone and the deletion registry, is kept after deletion.
The operator confirms independent off-host custody of the refreshed deletion evidence. Further deletions require current evidence and may require an updated independent copy for safe restore. This custody confirmation does not guarantee future backups or expiry.
Audit metadata can contain your content, and it is included when your data is purged.
Media backups exclude unretained raw files and include retained and derived material. Account purge waits for processing cleanup to be proven. Confirmed project evidence can remain after raw media deletion; the Privacy notice explains these separate lifetimes.
No guarantees
The pilot service is provided as it is. We make no promise of uptime, capacity or response times.
Kinet does not offer end-to-end or operator-proof privacy.
Replies from a language model can be wrong. Check them before you rely on them, and review anything you approve before you confirm it.
To the extent the law allows, limits on our liability apply. to be confirmed
Governing law
The governing law and the courts or forum for disputes remain to be confirmed. to be confirmed
Changes to these terms
Version v6 records installed personal-use email, recovery, reports and bounded recurring permissions. Public registration remains closed; account and report delivery are restricted. It preserves the existing conditional backup, hosting, media and limit disclosures. B4, B5 and B6 remain to be confirmed where marked; these documents remain drafts.
We may change these terms. Each version has a number and a date at the top of the page, and we will say what changed.
While this text is a draft, nothing in it binds anyone.
Contact
Pilot users can write to support@kinet.com. Everyone else can write to hello@kinet.com. Mail is forwarded to the owner's mailbox; the Privacy notice says how it is handled.
